SACWA Backup Solutions
“Years of work, photos, records and data can be lost in a blink of an eye”
Same Machine Backup Options
Data can be backed up on the same machine to removable media such as an USB hard drive, or seperate internal hard drive. This can take the form of simply copying the data, or imagining the drive on a schedule.
There are many commercial backup utilities on the market that provide full automation for backup and restoration of your system if the hard drive fails or data is deleted accidently or by a virus.
SACWA can choose a solution that is right for you and teach you how to monitor and restore backups.

Local RAID Backup Redundancy Options
RAID is a hardware backup a method where two or more disks are used.
The data is written as a complete copy creating immediate, real-time backups.
This method is perfect in case one disk drive fails, the other one still has all the data, but if a virus attacks you will still need to restore from a backup image.
On-site or “Local External” Backup
In an office setting, some backup is done “on site.” This means that there is a backup kept on the premises. This may be one computer dedicated to keeping the network backups. It may be an external hard drive or even a storage area on a server or machine always left on.
The drawback to on-site backup is that if something catastrophic happens to the building, such as fire or theft, both the original data and the backup is destroyed or lost.
Off-site or “Remote” Backup
An off-site backup can be a complex system where another complete image of the computers/servers are stored off the premises in case of disaster with all the current data copied to them.
The normal off-site backup is a networked computer or Hard drive.
Automated software copies the data across the Internet to the off-site unit.
